Wuthering Heights (Emily Brontė)
Not impressed. An iconic book (is that the word?) and I'm glad I read it, because now I've read it and so I won't have to read it again. OK, it wasn't that hard to read so it was an OK story but it just didn't grab me. The character of Heathcliff was interesting, and I did like the way the story unfolded - told out of sequence - but overall I found it over-sentimental and a bit of a disappointment.
Yes, I remember now: the thing I found tedious was the fact that it seemed to have no light and shade but went on and on in the same tragic tone throughout.
